Beginning to Read Books

Aspiring readers are beginning to grasp how a book works.  They are learning letters, letter sounds, and how letters are put together to make words. Children are pointing at the words as they read and are using picture clues.  They will have “Beginning to Read Books” memorized as they read them over and over but they will start to know letters, word patterns, high frequency words, and understand how sentences work.  Most of all they will love that they are reading!
